Wow, I'm such a huge dork in that video. Please don't hold it against me.
So, the time has finally come. After months, no actually years, of planning (read here), my trip to Italy is about to get under way.
What can I say? I am so excited to get going. I'm going to be seeing and experiencing things that I've never seen or experienced before and I'm looking forward to documenting the entire trip and writing about it here.
Since I'm going alone it will be a great comfort to know that people like you are experiencing this with me. To all of you, friends, family, coworkers and the kids from my sunday school class, please email me, comment on my blogs, and keep me in your prayers. I would say give me a call, but at $.99 a minute, I'll probably not want to talk for too long (don't take it personally).
I have a delta flight leaving Wednesday at 5pm and fly directly from Atlanta to Rome. It'll be a 10 hour flight and I hope to be asleep for most of it. Once I land, Once I get there, I'll hit the ground running and making the most of every minute.
I'll be uploading tons of pictures and videos of what I see over there. Here is just a short video message to you. Thanks for reading and I hope you will all check back soon. I'll be updating this blog daily (barring internet problems).

Nice, Italy was one of the best times of my life and I wish I could've stayed longer. Though being with a relative from the country who could guide us for much of the time really helped (didn't have much experience traveling overseas where English isn't the first language).
Hopefully you end up posting a lot more of your pics/videos than I did.
Eat lots of gelato =P Oh, and for a really awesome restaurant in Rome, go to Taverna de Fori Imperiali near the Colloseum.
